I have been very impressed with Eric Frey's VOCAL RELEASE PROGRAM.   I have studied with a myriad of teachers, some very renown; yet I would still end up baffled by some of the problems I was encountering when finished with their pedagogical methods.  Mr. Frey has taken considerable time to EXPLAIN why you do the exercises, which is not routinely found with other methods.  His insistence on the use of resonance as the "control center" for the voice, does indeed bring full-proof results of increased power, accurate intonation, and a vocal flexibility that brings you to the next level in your singing! I have purchased a couple of online courses prior to this one, and although it helped me some, i still couldn't sing as well as the divas that i admired. I am a natural 1st soprano in our university choir.  High notes? Sure, i could hit them alright...but I wanted to learn how do it in POP.  Whenever I tried, my voice would either break from pushing chest, or I'd hit it in a very heady voice that didn't sound diva-like at all. Hi I'm a sixteen year old male classical and r&b singer and when my voice broke I was quite devastated and was worried I wouldn't be able to get my range back. The reason is, is that the sound the vocal cords produce on their own is a very small unmusical thing.  Without the upper harmonic resonation, it's like taking the body away from a violin and just leaving the strings.  The strings would make a sound if struck, but it would not sound musical at all.

If you are expecting upper harmonic resonance to happen simply because you sing with a relaxed larynx and open throat, you will never achieve it.  You are missing a big part of the equation.

I almost couldn't believe it. I have been working really hard to improve the quality of my voice (Your CD's really helped me) And 3 days ago while I was driving home, singing and vocalizing as I usually do for my 45 minute commute, I found a whole new section of my voice that I didn't realize I had.
